Our Mission

Babe's Kids is a separate division of The Canuso Foundation. It's a "for kids by kids" organization that helps brighten the lives of children who are coping with childhood cancer, serious illness, or disabilities.

Led by a nucleus of eleven Canuso cousins from age 10 to 18, Babe's Kids is dedicated to getting kids involved with helping other children who have cancer or other serious illness.

In 2009, the Foundation began an outreach campaign to expand the organization so that kids from every part of the Delaware Valley could become one of Babe's Kids, and make a difference in the lives of the sickest children in our area.

Babe's Kids members can be any age; the only prerequisite is a desire to help other children.

Where the Money Goes

Babe's Kids sponsored Summer Camp Program at Ronald McDonald House
For kids with cancer or other diseases, getting treatment often means spending hours at the hospital or doctor's office. Babe's Kids raises funds for the Camden Ronald McDonald House Summer Camp Program, so that kids and families can take a break after treatments to do fun stuff, like visit the Camden Aquarium, The Philadelphia Zoo, The Franklin Institute, The Academy of Natural Sciences, go to a Phillies game, or see other area attractions. While it's not a "summer camp" in the truest sense, it's a cool way for kids and their families to spend time together and do fun stuff in-between treatments.

Fundraising helps the program get special tickets and fun packages for kids and families to enjoy whenever they are feeling well.

Babe's Kids sponsored Homework Room at the Ronald McDonald House
Babe's Kids is raising money to help create a "homework room" in the Ronald McDonald House in Camden, so kids can use computers to keep up with school work, have fun and stay in touch with friends and family while they get treatment.

Families in Need
When a child is sick, it takes a toll on families financially, emotionally and in other ways. Things once taken for granted become harder; life can become so difficult without help and support from people who care. Babe's Kids helps local families by providing everyday necessities and financial support, as well as a helping hand. Each family has unique needs, but we do our best to help in any way we can.
